I prefer to explore the dark side of whimsy in my illustrations. A range of media keeps me occupied including pen and ink, watercolor, pastels, and Photoshop. I find inspiration in the people I interact with, other artists (particularly folk art and the illustrations of Shel Silverstein, Edward Gorey, etc.), and the environments around me, be they cityscape or nature.
I have guest lectured at Temple University and Community College of Philadelphia on the subjects of children’s book illustration/writing and early childhood arts education, respectively. I have participated in and curated fine arts shows in several states and published 2 children’s books, Lizzie Fox-Top (2009) and Cousin Ann’s Stories for Children (2011).
I earned my B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008.
